Description
This house is located at 160 Maiden Lane and retains many of its original exterior features. The house was built c. 1870 for Milner Hart who was working as a Dominion Land Surveyor at the time of its construction. He lived in the home with his wife, Margaret Robertson, soon after their wedding. In later years the house was owned by the Graham family. James Graham, a local lawyer, purchased the home for his family. He would later go on to have several important roles within the community including working as a town councillor and as a partner in the Thames Quarry. Graham's son William H. Graham would later take over the estate. He helped develop the family's business, Graham Oil. The house remains in the family to this day.

This yellow brick house has many elegant features such as the large protruding bay window, curved decorative brick headers, a large arched door surround and a small balcony above the front entrance. The façade of the house looks East over a hill facing the Thames River.

In the winter and early spring of 1982-1983, Randall Speller, a colleague of Larry Pfaff from the Art Gallery of Ontario, took a series of black and white photographs of houses of architectural significance in St. Marys. Larry Pfaff and several local friends who shared this interest in architecture took some additional photographs in a subsequent summer. This photograph is one of this series.
