Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This is the Portland Cement Factory in St. Marys, which was one of the most modern and productive mills at the time. In 1912, the factory produced over 1400 barrels, or 158 000 litres, of cement each day. The St. Marys Cement Co. still produces Portland cement to this day.
