This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It depicts the front entrance of St. Marys District Collegiate & Vocational Institute. On the back is an invitation to the All Years Reunion from 2005. After the Second World War, St. Marys underwent numerous construction projects, pressuring the school board to build a new high school to replace the aging North Ward School. The official opening was held on September 22, 1954. The Right Honourable Arthur Meighen, former Prime Minister of Canada and North Ward School alumni, was the guest of honour.
