Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It depicts the Lakeside General Store, with a branch of the Traders Bank of Canada attached. Three women and a man with a baby stand on the front porch, while two horse-drawn buggies sit on the road outside. The store was built on this property in 1903, and the Traders Bank went bankrupt in 1910. The store underwent several different owners and renovations throughout its history, and was officially closed in 1995. It was converted to a private residence, as it stands today.
