- Description
- This is a photograph of the stable at the old site of the St. Marys Fairgrounds on Queen Street West, which included a quarter-mile circular covered horse racing track. The track and stable were called the St. Marys Thoroughbred Training Centre. Ted Kennedy, an ex Toronto Maple Leafs hockey star, purchased the property from Lex Wilson in 1970 and endeavored to fix it up and enhance the surroundings. The stable remained on the property until 1995 when it was demolished. The property is now open field (2018).
