Description
This is a photograph of the Graduating class from North Ward School in 1964-1965 standing in front of the school. Opened in January 1875, the decision to build a school was under much deliberation, but eventually allowed as a response to population growth indicated in the 1872 Census. After the opening of a new high school in 1954, the North Ward School was then used as a public school shared with the Army, St. Marys Band, and Maxwell's. Renamed Arthur Meighen Public School in June 1984, it was finally closed in 2011 and demolished in 2016.
