Description
This photo shows the interior of the Church in the late 1800s. The gas light chandeliers from the 1882 renovation are seen alongside electrical lights and the pipe organ has not yet been installed. In 1894, the Choir was seated in the Chancel and before that the Choir was situated in the Nave of the Church on the right side of the prayer desk.
Notes
Condition: Front: Faded and discoloured with age. Scratches and brown spotted stains throughout. There is some water damage along the bottom and the edges of the top right corner is peeling apart.
Back: Water damage, discolouration and tears throughout. Edges are peeling away and there are brown stains throughout.
Inscriptions
The back reads:
"The date 1880 on the reverside is away out. The Choir were not seated in the Chancel until 1894 and previous to that the Organ and Choir were in the Nave to the right of the wooden Prayer Desk."
