- This photo depicts 149 Wellington Street North in about 1934. This board and batten cottage was built in the late 1870s by local contractor Richard Kelly; Kelly rented the house to tenants. The cottage is symmetrical in its proportions but an addition has been added to the east side of the house. The house features a small porch and decorative shutters. The front door is set into a surround with an ornamental cornice and brackets.
The children in the photo are John and Jean Waters grandchildren. - Notes
