- Made in England. Aluminum, with a red band around the writing and a red tip. Inscribed “Read the Cobourg Sentinel-Star”.
A thimble is an enclosed metal of plastic cap worn on a person's thumb or finger to push the needle through fabric when sewing. It prevents cuts. - Notes
- The newspaper known as the Cobourg Sentinel-Star between 1880-1972, has had many different names. It was originally founded in 1831 and between 1831-1880 it was known as The Cobourg Star, among other names. The Sentinel was an independently run newspaper between 1861-1879 but merged with the Star in 1880 to form the Cobourg Sentinel-Star. After this it was known once again as the Cobourg Star between 1973-1976, followed by the Cobourg Daily Star in 1977-2009. It is now known as Northumberland Today.
