- Robert Glover originally established a dairy at 203 William Street in 1920. The business was managed over the years by Ross, Thomas and Reginald Glover. In 1932, the operation moved to 231 William Street South and established its name as Glover's City Dairy. The name continued to be used until the mid 1960s, although the business had been bought out by Vale's Dairy Ltd.
