- impressed with "CHATHAM.1948" at the top and "98" at the bottom
- embossed in a shaped recessed centre panel is "LICENSED/TAXI DRIVER"
- reverse is blank
- property of James Pelletier of Chatham who was a taxi driver in the city in the late 1940s and early 1950s before enlisting for service in the Korean War
- Mr. Pelletier subsequently became a career soldier
