- Description
- - white china plate with scalloped edge with open fretwork, the centre featuring a painted scene of two mallard ducks by a treed shoreline with a sail boat in the background and wording at the top of the scene "A Present from Morpeth"
- souvenir plate with painted scenes from communities became popular as gifts and keepsakes during the first quarter of the 20th century. This is a very rare example from the small Howard Township community of Morpeth. As of the time of acquisition, no other souvenir china piece has been seen from Morpeth (while similar pieces from larger centres such as Chatham are reasonably common)
