- wooden carved figure of a duck, purple-grey head, black bill, with body of purple-grey with black breast and tail area, lighter purple-grey wing area, grey underside with applied wooden keel with lead strip nailed to edge of keel
- head has yellow and black glass eyes
- This decoy had been authenticated by noted authority Paul Brisco as having been made by Fred Dolsen (see Waterfowl Decoys of Southwestern Ontario by Paul Brisco, p62-63 for similar examples and biography of Fred Dolsen)
- The decoy would have been carved c 1910. It is unbranded as many of Fred's were. It has been repainted at some point. Fred Dolsen was one of several members of the Dolsen family of Dover and Raleigh Twp to carve decoys
