Isabelle Florence Chesterfield was the youngest child and daughter of James Allen Chesterfield and Annie Wilson. She graduated from Ursuline College of Brescia at Western in 1937. Her mother, Annie, managed to send her two youngest children, Norman and Isabelle, off to university despite being a single mother with four other children. Isabelle later married Charles Kennedy.
