Description
A jacquard coverlet woven circa 1880 by F. Edward Graf. This pattern is double rose extra flower with bird and bush border. The warp (vertical threads) is white cotton, the weft (horizontal threads) is red, green, blue, and purple wool, creating stripes in the pattern. The image shows both sides of the coverlet, the intricate pattern shows up on both sides with inverse colouring. There is no fringe. The cartouche in the bottom corners read "DOUBLE/ROSE/EXTRA/FLOWER".
