I am in possession of my great grandparents Graf coverlet. It is the double rose. (Red, green & white). The story I remember hearing was that the weavers (Graf) travelled around & would do the weaving at the peoples farms. Would this be true, or would my great grandparents have gone to them & ordered one.

The Grafs did employ salesman who travelled around taking orders and selling coverlets, however, all their weaving, including the coverlets were made in their workshop. The sheer size of the looms, plus the several days it would take to set up the looms, would have made it impossible for the weaver to travel around with them.
Your great grandparents would've purchased one already made, ordered a custom one through the salesman, or went to the Grafs directly to order their coverlet.
