- This stereoscopic view shows a ship and a tug headed downbound (northbound) in the lock at Port Colborne, with the lock gates closed. Taken from the pedestrian/ vehicular swing bridge looking north, the photo shows the swing bridge for the Grand Trunk Railway in the background, and on the right are some of the buildings of East St, including the Commercial Hotel next to the railway tracks. Also on the right, a small part of the excavation for the lock for the Third Welland Canal is just visible. Image dates between 1876 and 1880.
