- - WW I British War Medal, silver disk surmounted by a straight bar suspender through which is attached a watered silk ribbon with orange centre flanked by stripeds of white, black, and blue
- obverse of the medal depicts the bust of King George V while the reverse depicts a naked man on horse back with the dates "1914" and "1918"
- the edge of the medal is impressed with the details of the recipient as follows: "880694 PTE. V. A. SWAINSTON. 18-CAN. INF"
