- Description
- A picture of an assorted pack of safety pins made by DeLong Hook & Eye Company in St. Marys, Ontario. The package reads "A Pin for Every Purpose" and advertises "brass-gilt finished," "steel-nickel plated" safety pins. This package of pins was sold for 29 cents in 1961.
Founded by Frank DeLong in Philadelphia, DeLong Hook & Eye Co. made pins and fasteners for clothing. One of these factories was built on Emily St. in the early 1900s, but in 1958, the factory changed locations and a new larger building was built on Egan Avenue. This building on Egan Avenue later housed Dresden Industries and eventually closed in 2003. - Date of Original
