- Description
- The exterior of the Royal Bank of Canada's St. Marys branch located on 133 Queen St. East.
In April 1888, the Traders Bank opened on this site, replacing the Federal Bank that had been operating there since 1877 and closed in February 1888. The building that houses RBC (2023) was eventually built as an upgrade for Traders Bank in 1901. In 1912, Traders Bank amalgamated with the Royal Bank to form the Royal Bank of Canada, who then bought the Traders Bank building in 1916. This building was later renovated in 1967 and again in 1973. - Date of Original
