- Description
- A photograph of a heart monitor and unknown patient at (most likely) St. Marys Memorial Hospital.
The Hospital Auxiliary may have helped raise the funds for the heart monitor through their gift shop and boutique sales. Hospital Auxiliaries are volunteer-based groups that run a hospital's gift shop. All proceeds from these sales then go toward new patient care equipment and funding volunteer programs, which may have been how this heart monitor was acquired.
Built at 267 Queen Street West, the St. Marys Memorial Hospital was completed in 1950, giving the community access to important treatments such as this one. - Notes
