This is a picture of my great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Milroy Caven. She was born August 1, 1803, in Kirkcolm Parish, Scotland. She married John Caven, a school teacher, July 1, 1827. In 1847 they moved to the township of North Dumfries, Ontario. They later moved to a farm north of St. Marys where they remained until death.(One source says they lived at Lot 27 East Mitchell Road Concession, near Motherwell, Ontario.) John Caven is buried St. Marys , Ont. Lot 26, Sec. C in a plot deeded to Mrs. Andrew McFazden(Jeanie.) John and Mary had three children: Jeanie Caven McFadzen, my great-great-grandmother; William Caven, who became principal of Knox College, Toronto; Mary Caven McIntyre, Julia McIntyre's great grandmother. Grandmother Caven died April 6, 1901 at Motherwell, Ont. (reported as the 7th in newspapers)

Mary Milroy's father was William Milroy, born 1772, Stoney Kirk Farm, Stoney Kirk, Scotland. Her mother was Margaret.
