- Photo of the staff A. Beattie store located in downtown St. Marys (corner of Church and Queen Streets, currently the TD Bank).
The people have been identified as:
Standing - Dave Smith (son of Sam Smith), Martha Delmage, Mr. Chambers, Miss Whetstone, George Smith
Seated Middle - James Stanley, Etta Burns, George Ross, Miss Leadman, Mr. Donald McRae
Front - Arthur Dusty, Lily Beattie
Alexander Beattie established this prosperous store by the 1860s and sold men and women's clothing, millinery, fine groceries and dry goods. By the time this photograph was taken, Beattie himself had died and the store was run by a partner, Robert Dickson. - Notes

Condition of photos:
Copy 1 - Very good. Looks brand new with just some yellowing and a few marks.

Copy 2 - Poor. Blue stains on image as well as other stains. Yellowed with some contrast loss. Rip on left side. Do not handle.
