Portrait of John G. Lind. He is pictured looking off to the side wearing a suit jacket and tie.

Mr. Lind was one of the founders of St. Marys Cement back in 1912.

Lind was a very giving person and donated Lind Park:
"A passive park in downtown St. Marys just a block south of the Town Hall on Church Street. This park has been named after John Lind who rehabilitated an old garbage dump using his workers from the St. Marys Cement Company during the depression. John's daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lind, refurbished the park in 1987 to prepare for the erection of Arthur Meighen?s statue. Lind Park is a pleasant spot during any season, but is enjoyed mostly for a picnic spot during the summer. A beautiful quiet park to enjoy a picnic lunch!" (from the Town of St. Marys website)

He also (along with the newly formed Rotary Club of St. Marys) donated Cadzow Park and the Tracy house (now the St. Marys Museum) to the town as well in 1926 and had Cadzow Pool put in which is still in use today over 80 years later!
