Description
Newspaper clipping of a Perth pioneer's homestead. Pictured is a large simple log home as it appeared in 1943.

Unfortunately the newspaper and date has not been provided. It is not the Journal Argus but may be the London Free Press or the Stratford Beacon Herald.

As the person submitting the comment has noted, this is the Motherwell home of John and Mary Caven who settled in the area in the 1850s.
Notes
Condition: Fair. Faded, showing signs of use and age.

PERTH PIONEER'S HOME (photo cutline)
A long-familiar landmark of Fullarton Township, Perth County - the house on the old Caven farm, near Motherwell, as it appeared in 1943, is typical of the pioneer homes of hewn logs that sheltered Perth's early settlers.
