I think that the original of this photograph was one of a series of schools and industries in St. Marys taken by the Stratford photographer W.I. Becker in 1893. There are several of these in the collection of the St. Marys Museum: they all have the same mounts and are similar in style and type. The fourth girl from the right in the front row is Agnes Lucas, daughter of Richard Lucas and later the wife of Charles Lewis.
