Description
Under this Accession number there is a collection of newspapers from the United States (US) from the years 1812 to 1886, some of which contain articles related to the War of 1812. The following is a brief description of the articles of interest.

The "Buffalo Gazette" of March 15, 1814 contains various articles concerning Federal Republican Senate positions, acts passed by congress and other political occurrences. There is also a printed speech delivered in the House of Representatives concerning Col. Van Rensselaer's commendable effort at the Battle of Queenston. The individual does, however, request an inquiry into the failure of the attack on Queenston. Military articles include a request for compensation for soldiers at Wabush, a battle at Middlebury where residents discovered the enemy not far from town, a discussion of the conditions at Detroit and militia orders from Major General A. Hull.
