- This sampler was sewn by Margaret Stewart in the year 1812. The sampler is inscribed "God save the king". The phrase sewn on the sampler is "When danger threats the soldier cot and cruel cares assail it affection smiles shall soothe his lot or bid him not bewail it". The sampler is a square shape measuring 46cm x 46cm.
