- This is an 82nd Regiment of Foot, Prince of Wales Volunteers button. There is a raised design of three feather-like plumes tied together with a scroll and “82” raised below. The button is made of metal, possibly pewter, and measures 1.5cm in diameter.
This regiment arrived in Upper Canada on August 7th, 1814 from the south of France. They fought at the assault on Fort Erie and in other encounters on the Niagara Frontier. The 82nd left Canada in June 1815.
