Description

This Land/India Pattern bayonet was produced by the British Government ca. 1730-1815. This type of bayonet was used during the War of 1812.

With a 17 inch blade and flat top, the bayonet gradually narrows to a point to form a triangular shape. The socket of the bayonet is a 3 inch hollow cylinder and has a rectangular, zig-zag cut out on the side.

The entire bayonet is painted silver and has the number 57 stamped on the top of the socket. On one side the letter V is stamped and underneath are the numbers and letter 1 K 52. Below the 1 K 52 the number 23 is also stamped. On top of the blade a small image is stamped with the number 2 above it.
