Description
Samuel Zimmerman was the owner of the Erie and Ontario Railroad and he purchased the Niagara Harbour and Dock Company in 1853. Working with the town, Zimmerman was able to construct a railway line which opened in 1854. In 1857 Zimmerman was killed in the Desjardins Canal (near Hamilton).
