- Description
- This is a black and white photo of two men, Don Johnson (manager of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre) and Bill Cole (Ministry of Natural Resources) counting the rings on a slice of Thessalon's giant white pine tree.
The photo appears to have been taken in the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
- Notes
- The tree fell down in a harsh wind storm in 1997. Scientists determined that the tree was 355 years old at that time and that the tree contained enough lumber to build a three-bedroom house.
- Inscriptions
- The caption under this photo reads "Don Johnson, general manager of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, (left), count rings with the Ministry of Natural Resources' Bill Cole, as they examine a slice of Thessalon's giant white pine."
