- This is a black and white photo of the east side of Main Street between Huron and Lorne Street during the fire in the "Ansara Block". The photo shows the fire trucks on scene and the firefighters hosing down the building as the fire rages.
- Notes
- This fire left 31 people homeless, 17 of them children and was believed to have started in a chimney. Volunteer firefighters and citizens alike helped to try and extinguish the blaze and aid with evacuation of nearby homes and businesses.
The only structures left standing on the block at the end were the O'Connor Hotel at the south end, a small building next door and a restaurant at the north end of the block.
