McCARTNEY: Sadie Jean (nee Currah) – passed away peacefully on Friday May 13, 2011 at her residence Nithview Home with family at her side, loved wife of the late Hugh McCartney who she married April 10, 1943.

Forever in the hearts of her children Carol (Brian) Coombs, Fran (Glen) Radke, Janet (Ben) Moss and James (Jane) McCartney and her grandchildren Lynne (Paul) Gibb, James (Donna) Coombs, Teresa (Kevin) Glavin, Anita (Chris) Watamanuk, Angela (Scellig) Stone, Vicki (Dwight) Dittmer, Kelly Schmidt, Jeromy Moss, Jill McCartney (Jason Hannigan), Judy McCartney, Joseph McCartney (Maria Mustakas) and by her precious 14 great grandchildren. Loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Sadie was the last of her family having been predeceased by brothers Stuart, Don, Russell and Ross Currah.

Sadie was a member of the Plattsville United Church and a life long member of the U.C.W. where she loved to cater for the community and she was an avid gardener, sewer, quilter and cook.

Relatives and friends may call at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William Street Plattsville, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Funeral service will be conducted from the Peace United Church, Plattsville on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Jan Aylward officiating. Interment in Ratho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ratho Cemetery, the Grand River Regional Cancer Center or the charity of one’s choice (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences can be sent at www.gffh.ca
