SAWATZKY, Jake Sr. - 1940-2011 - Suddenly at his residence on Friday, May 27, 2011, Jake Sawatzky Sr. of Brownsvile, was called Home to be with his Lord, at the age of 71 years. Great husband of 52 years to his wife Janet. Predeceased by his daughter Joanne (1993). Excellent father to Jacob (Sandra) Sawatzky; James (Mary-Anne) Sawatzky. Father-in-law to Ronald (Joanne). Loving grandfather to Matthew, Megan and Jessica Davis; Darrell and Lindsey Sawatzky; Devin Sawatzky (Deanna Toms), Brandon Sawatzky (Caitlin DeRouck). Brother to Peter (Anna); Mary Sauve; Helen (Len) Peters; Neil (Lois); John (Daphne); Tina (Lou) Jaramillo; Anita (Kent) Wood; David (Tina). Brother-in-law to Bill (Betty); Greta (the late Bill) Triska; Pauline (the late Maurice) Brick; Lee (Audrey); Russell (Deloris); Alice (Allen) Seymour; Bob (Mary Lou). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Katharina, brother Henry (Aganetha and Agatha), brothers-in-law Harvey (Donna); Lloyd (Mabel). Jake will be missed by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his love of hockey and fishing, and will leave behind a legacy to his family and friends as a man that set his goals, lived by them and always completed them. The family will receive friends and family at the Open Bible Baptist Church, 9060 Hacienda Main Rd., Aylmer, ON, N5H 2R1 ((519)-773-3303) on Thursday, June 02, 2011 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will commence at 11:00 a.m. from the church. Pastor Brent Thomas will be officiating.
