BOWIE, Robert G. "Bob" - At Sakura House on Friday, July 1, 2011, Robert "Bob" Bowie of Woodstock in his 72nd year. Beloved partner and best friend of Madeline Douglas (nee Kraus). Dear father of Robert G. Bowie of Toronto and stepfather of Kim Lazarus (Kent Wells) of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Krysten Lazarus of Woodstock. Dear uncle of Tara Jean Bowie. Loved brother of Don Hutcheson (Ruby) of Ingersoll and Joan Hutcheson of Beachville. Predeceased by his brother Kenneth Bowie (2010), parents Robert J. Bowie and Jean Elizabeth Hutcheson (Bowie) (nee Gordon) (2003), stepfather Murray Gordon Hutcheson (1996) and stepson Craig Alexander Douglas (1987). Bob was Past President of the Woodstock Curling Club, a member of the Navy Club, Beachville Legion, and was Senator and Past President for the Jaycees. Bob curled in the Left Hander's International Bonspiel for 29 years. His favourite place to be was the cottage in Wiarton. A private interment has taken place at the Beachville Cemetery. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Navy Club, 959 James St., Woodstock, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 2 - 4 pm.
