McBURNEY, Hugh A. (Alex) - Peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday October 23, 2011. Hugh A. (Alex) McBurney of Finkle St. Woodstock in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Norma I. McBurney (nee Rose)(1991). Much loved son of the late Jack and Kate McBurney (nee Forbes). Loved brother of Douglas (Elsie) McBurney of Ottawa, Margaret (Bill) Armstrong of Verschoyle, and Joyce (Bill) Fraser of Columbus, Mississippi. Dear brother-in-law of Mary (Clare) Frocklage and Marlene Keith. Sadly missed by his companion Ivy Scott and her children Gloria (Ron) Scott, Marie (Harold) Defayette, Steven Hartley and David Scott and their families. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Alex was employed as a mechanic with Central Chev Olds, London for many years. Predeceased by his sisters Audrey (Russell) Garner, Ruth (Robert) Layman, Donna (Norman) Vigar, Marie (Bruce) McIntosh and by his sister-in-law Eleanor Milligan and brother-in-law of Jim Keith. A private family service will be held for Alex at a later date. Interment to take place at North Embro Cemetery.
