SNAREY, Cora M. - Cora Marilyn Snarey, 87, of Tavistock passed away in Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County on April 21, 1924, a daugher of the late John and Myrtle (Gray) Chambers. She was a member of Grace United Church, Tavistock; was a Charter Member of the United Church Women and was a member of the Anna P. Lewis Women's Institute. She married Morris George Snarey at Oxford Centre on April 2, 1941. He predeceased her on March 8, 1990. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert Gordon Snarey in October 2006. Cora is survived by two daughters, Muriel and husband Gary Oxley of Woodstock, Margaret and husband Larry Schenk of Kitchener; one son, Donald and wife Judie Snarey of Embro; her daughter-in-law, Frieda Snarey of Stratford; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Hannah Chambers of Tavistock and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by four sisters, Melvina Chambers, Myrrhl Hartsell, Viola Kitching and Florence Chambers; four brothers, Leonard, Tom, Bob and Bill Chambers. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mary Stewart will officiate. Interment in Innerkip Cemetery.
