MURPHY, Charles Daniel - Born in Deseronto, Ontario on February 23, 1928, passed away Tuesday March 22, 2011 at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock. He leaves behind his companion of 48 years, Marie Ella Anderson. Also survived by his children Mary Lou Groothuis (Hank), Margaret Murphy both of New Brunswick, Teresa McCallum (Bob) of Woodstock, Terry Murphy (Jill) of Bright, step children Joe Anderson of B.C., Nancy Bright of Stratford, Shirley Bright of Edmonton, Lucie Thompson (Don) of Woodstock and Cheryl Anderson of Edmonton. Charles will be remembered by his sisters Edith Wager and Teresa Bremner of Napanee and by his many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Joey Murphy (2000), step-son Bob Anderson (2006), parents Tom and Margaret Murphy and brothers Jack and Jim Murphy. Charles was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and was a veteran of WW II. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the LONGWORTH FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday March 25, 2011 from 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 3:30 pm. Interment later in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions in memory of Charles may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society - Leukemia Research.
