Tune, George Anson (Died)

TUNE, George Anson - It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of George Anson Tune suddenly following a stroke. George passed away peacefully at the Woodstock Hospital on November 8th, 2013. He was born in Burford, Ontario July 27, 1934 and resided in Eastwood, Ontario. George was the son of the late Stanley and Isobel Tune. He was the cherished brother of Marion (Dick) Petty, and brother-in-law of Vicky Tune. George was predeceased by brothers, Harold and wife Audrey and Jack Tune. He was a long time special friend of the late Shirley Kramer. George will be missed by nieces Lynda Skillings, Katherine Tune, Judy Jonkers, Gaye Zylstra and Charmay Tune, nephews Gary Tune and Mark Petty, aunts Marguerite Fenton, Ariel Koster, Helen Broadley and Norma Hureau. He was a favourite of his many cousins. George retired as Head Custodian at CASS after 25 years and was pleased to be involved in the recent reunion and recovery of the "Time Capsule". He was very well liked and respected by staff and students at CASS. George enjoyed an active life with his home, workshop, garden, regular morning coffee with friends and niece Kathy, along with frequent visits and activities with his many friends and relatives. Special thanks to Dr. Briggs and the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care and the Palliative Care Units at Woodstock Hospital. Also a special thank you to Lorenze and Lillian for being such caring neighbours. At George's request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of George's life to be announced at a later date.
