McALLISTER, Doug - Gone to be with his Lord and Saviour at the Woodstock Hospital on Wednesday November 13, 2013. Douglas Stuart McAllister of RR# 4, Woodstock in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Carol E. (nee Bourne) McAllister for over 38 years. Dear father to Suzanne Kamstra, Patricia "Pat" Swarts (Tom), Steve McAllister (Tracy) all of Woodstock, Susan Lyons of London, Sandra "Sam" Wolfe (Brian) of Sweaburg and Jackie Verhoef (Jay Wettlaufer) of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of fourteen grandchildren. Dear brother to Mary (Rudy) Reich of Kitchener, Ruth Rendell of London, David McAllister of Strathroy. Cherished son-in-law to Beth Bourne of Huntingford and brother-in-law to Hedy McAllister, Brian Bourne, Charles Bourne (Betty) and Lynda Hamilton (Harold). Predeceased by his son Bill (1989) and by his brother Don (2012). Doug was a member of the King Solomon's Masonic Lodge # 43 AF & AM, Woodstock. He enjoyed his "Coffee Gang" at the east end Tim Hortons for several years. Doug drove truck and bus for greyhound. He would say he had "White Line Fever." All and all his favourite past time was RVing with Carol. With no plans or schedule they would often hit the road and see where it took them. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday November 15, 2013 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Hoffman officiating. Interment in the Oxford Centre Pioneer Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Gideon Bible Society or Tribal Trails would be appreciated.
