Chatterson, Barbara Ann (née Purdy) (Died)

CHATTERSON, Barbara Ann - Wednesday November 27, 2013, after a year-long struggle with cancer, Barbara Ann Chatterson (nee Purdy) passed to her rest peacefully with her loving family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 year Dennis (2006) and by her brothers Allen, Bill and Bud Purdy (Dennis) and sisters Naureen Purdy and Fran Weston. Barb is survived by her sons Gordon Chatterson and his wife Adeline of Woodstock and Mark Chatterson and his wife Cheryl Walther of Woodstock. Sadly missed by her grand-children Chris Chatterson, Holly Chatterson, Kim Chatterson, Gayla Walther, Erich Walther and Adam Chatterson. She was born in Almonte, Ontario to Albert and Maude Purdy in 1934 and lived for the past 30 years in Woodstock and Zephyrhills, Florida. She was proud of the care that she provided during the 35 years that she worked as a nurse's aide at hospitals and nursing homes. Barb had a deep faith in God and in the peace beyond this life that was waiting. She'll be remembered for her strength and her compassion to her friends. She cared deeply for her children and grandchildren and for her many nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank family and friends for the tremendous outpouring of love and support that they and Barb received while fighting cancer. Also, to the doctors and nurses of Woodstock General Hospital and Sukura House and to Father Rick of Holy Trinity Catholic Church your compassion and encouragement were outstanding. In accordance to Barb's wishes following cremation, her ashes will be interred at the Ingersoll Cemetery. At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial observed. Donations in the memory of Barb Chatterson to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sakura House would be appreciated.
