BUCK, Dr. David Bruce - January 19, 1937 - Sept 5, 2014 Surrounded by love, Dr. David Bruce Buck entered peacefully into eternal rest at Woodstock General Hospital. Born in Oshawa son of the late Bruce Buck and Lucy Northcott, brother of Mary Boate (Jim). Husband of Sandra. Proud father of Lesley Sprung (Gord), Ian (Shannon) and Matthew (Jessica). Loving Papa of Lucas and Jack Sprung, and Anna and Avery Buck. Sadly missed by Jennifer and Lori. David graduated in 1961 from the College of Optometry and spent a year with the Red Cross. From 1962-1976 David practiced in Woodstock. David later joined the faculty of the University of Waterloo with the School of Optometry from 1976 to 1996, spending some of those years as the Chief of Clinics. David enjoyed retirement, taking road trips across Canada to visit family and friends, chronicling the journeys with his fondness for photography. David was a long time member of the First United Church in Waterloo serving on various committees. David also enjoyed spending time with the loving community at the Triple C Bible Camp. Friends are invited to share their memories of David with his family during visitation at the ERB & GOOD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday from 7- 9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at First United Church, 16 William Street W, Waterloo on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eva Mezo officiating. Reception to follow. Condolences for the family and donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the First United Church, Waterloo may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
