McMAHON, Kenneth - 1928 - 2015 Kenneth (Ken) McMahon was born on December 29, 1928 in Hamilton, Ontario. He died with grace and peace on Monday May 18, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to the late Florence (Flo) McMahon and brother to Larry, Harry (Margaret), and Shirley. Ken was the cherished father of Deborah (Hartmut Twardzik), Lynn (Peter Berry), Wendy (Terry Broadbent) and Randy (Michaela). Affectionate grandfather to Russell, Jason (Amanda), Matthew, Jessica (Joey Hadjar), Taylor, Carly, Sarah and Dillon and great grandfather to Paige and Julia. Ken had a full life and he will be hugely missed by his family and his dear friend Betty Huggins and her family. Ken enjoyed the laughter they shared during their visits. Ken proudly served with the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) Regiment as a young man in Calgary. He worked for more than 30 years at the Ford Motor Company in Oakville, and would have never thought of driving anything else. Ken and Flo raised their family in Burlington and later moved to Norwich and then Woodstock. Ken took full advantage of his long retirement. Ken and Flo loved to travel - cruising around the world, touring Europe and spending winters in Texas with friends. They treasured their many friends and neighbours over the years. Ken made a point of making regular trips to visit his children and grandchildren, who were spread across Canada and around the world. At home, he enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Thanks to the staff at Woodstock General Hospital for the care he received during his time there. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at 800 Chieftain St, Woodstock on June 8 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
