Ramsay, Dr. Thomas Osborne (Ossie) (Died)

RAMSAY, Dr. Thomas Osborne (Ossie) - passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, April 27, 2015 at University Hospital London, ON in his 92nd year. Cherished husband of the late Irene (Edmiston) 2012 and father of the late Guy Ramsay (2014); Loving father of daughters Tricia (Jim) Wilkins, and Veronica (Paul Harrison) Robertson; father-in-law to Wendy Ramsay of Milton; Proud "Papa" to Kristen (Chris) Carne, Brad Wilkins, Nicki (Greg) Dickson, Cameron Ramsay, Jennifer (Matt) Hunter and Quinn Robertson. "Papa Ossie" will be missed by his great-grandchildren Brady and Everett Carne, Brayden Hunter and Henry Dickson. He is survived by his younger brother Robin (Jean) of England. Predeceased by his parents Robert Guy (Gertrude) and his brother Eric (Lois) of Tucson, Arizona. Immigrating to Canada from Scotland in 1951, he moved to Woodstock in 1960 and served this community for almost forty years as a family physician. He loved his career, devoting his life to medicine until he retired at the age of seventy-five, after practicing for fifty years. Many thanks to the staff at Park Place Retirement Home and the Red Cross PSW's for the care they provided before he moved to Leisure World Nursing Home in Ingersoll in late 2014. The family wishes to express their thanks for the wonderful care and compassion Dad received at Leisure World and the ICU staff at University Hospital, London. Cremation has taken place. As per Ossie's wishes, friends will be received by the family on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5-8 pm at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME , 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation.
