HAMPSON-GREENLY, Dorothy E. - Surrounded by her family at Woodstock Hospital on Tuesday February 2, 2016. Dorothy Ellen (née Stewart) Hampson-Greenly of Langdon Retirement Villa, Woodstock and formerly of Oxford Centre in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Greenly (1986) and the late William Henry Hampson (1975). Dear mother of Margaret (George) Alyea, Joe (Susan) Hampson and mother-in-law to Betty Hampson. Loved grandmother of seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Also lovingly remembered by Ernie's daughter Wilma (Dennis) Ewald and the entire Greenly family. She will always be remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her own Stewart family. Predeceased by her son Bill Hampson, grandson Tom and siblings; Loreen McLeod, Daniel G. Stewart, Stanley M. Stewart and Reg L. Stewart. After her marriage in 1941, Dorothy farmed with her husband Bill on the family farm in Oxford Centre where she worked diligently beside her husband. Prior to her marriage she was employed at H. Berlette and Sons in Woodstock. In her retirement years she enjoyed her sales clerk position at J. & J. Sutherlands in Woodstock. She had a lifelong interest in the C.G.I.T. organization and was a devoted leader of the C.G.I.T. group at College Avenue United Church for several years. Participation in many outdoor family events including camping, hunting, fishing, picnics and musical events brought her much pleasure. She enjoyed taking grandchildren camping and enjoyed her extended family and many travels with her husband Ernie, whom she married in 1984. In later years she was very active in sewing and needlework projects and participated in many craft shows all over Ontario and her handwork has found its way to many countries around the world. Dorothy was an active member of Christ Church (Anglican) Oxford Centre and an honorary member of Christ Church Ladies Aid. Friends are invited to join the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004 on Friday February 5, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at Christ Church (Anglican) Oxford Centre on Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment later in the Christ Church Anglican Cemetery.
