CHILDS, Stanley - At his residence on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Stanley "Stan" Childs of Carressant Care, Woodstock in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (nee Iredale) Childs (2012). Dear father of Sharon (Jack) DeVries and father-in-law of Lorne Leeper. Loved grandfather of Scott (Doris), Tim (Sherri), Jason (Carolyn), Jeff (Andrea), Richard (Sarah) and will be remembered by his several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dear brother to Judith Gallagher. Predeceased by his daughter Maryanne Leeper (2013) and by his son John Stanley Childs (1991). Stan was a veteran of WW II and a long time member of Dundas St. United Church. Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of reception and visitation at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 12:30 - 2:30 pm, where the memorial service will take place in the chapel on Saturday at 2:30 pm with Rev. Bonnie Pilkey officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
