LEWIS, Sheila Ruth (nee Stickney) - of Woodstock, formerly of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Beloved wife and soulmate of the late Rev. James K. "Jim" Lewis (2010). Survived by her mother, Phyllis Stickney, a sister, Rosalynn Tubbe (Cliff), a brother, Stuart Stickney, all of Kitchener, as well as several nieces and nephews. Also remembered by her late husband's three children; Pamela, Brent and Paul Lewis. Her father, Harold Stickney died in 2009. It was Sheila's great privilege to work in hospice palliative care for 10 years and she believed all people facing end of life should be treated with respect and dignity. She was forever grateful to the many health care providers in Woodstock who helped to treat her along her journey with that same respect and dignity: the loving staff of Caring Services for Seniors, the St. Elizabeth visiting health team, CCAC, Care Partners, Social Worker, Dr. Karen Fryer (pain and symptom management specialist), the Chemo unit staff of WGH, and the London Regional Cancer Program, and Rev. Dr. Douglas Anderson and Rev. Bill Mayoros. Sheila was also greatly blessed by her church family of First Baptist Church, Woodstock. Huge thanks to friends Catherine Powell, Ruth Ross, Sheila Kellins, Joanne Wright and other friends who supported her faithfully. At Sheila's request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place at First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Global Outreach Mission, or Sakura House Hospice, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME , 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Her faith in the Lord was her strong foundation and what truly blessed her journey through life until eternity. Death is not the opposite of life. Rather it is the opposite of birth, for life is Eternal.
