HOLMES, John Douglas (Doug) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Park Lane Terrace in Paris after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Julianne (nee Greb) and his sons Jason (Dianne) and Jefferson. Doug is fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Bernadette, James, Ashley, Lauren and Trent. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Florence Holmes. Brother of Sharon (Murray Chapman), Brother-in-Law of David Greb (Diane) and Nancy Lishman (Rick), remembered by many nieces and nephews. Doug grew up on a farm just outside of Listowel, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Guelph as an "Aggie" with his Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 1969. He worked in the agricultural industry for many years for companies such as Purina, New Life Feeds, United Co-operatives of Ontario and Scotland Agromart. He was active in the Drumbo-Princeton Minor Hockey Association as an executive member and the Drumbo Minor Baseball Association as a coach. The family would love to thank all the wonderful staff at Park Lane Terrace who have taken such great care of Doug for the past 11 years. Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL FUNERAL HOME , 1105 Rest Acres Rd., on Monday, from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1 p.m. In accordance with Doug's wishes, cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the MS Society or the Park Lane Rose Garden would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.budgellfuneralhome.ca
