KENNEDY, John W. - passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario on October 14th, 2016. He was born March 20, 1938 to Edward (Bud) and Mildred Kennedy. John and family managed Kenncrest Farm in Oxford Centre until son Brian and his family took over in the early 90’s. John and Marylou retired and moved to Turkey Point in 2000. John was an accomplished Judge of Holstein-Friesian dairy cattle, and was the official Holstein judge over the years at many county Black and White shows in Ontario and also in New York State. Kenncrest Farm was awarded the distinction of being a “Master Breeder” of Holstein-Friesian cattle under John’s management, along with father (Bud). John is a Past-President of the Oxford County Holstein Association and also served as a volunteer fire fighter on the Fire Department of Oxford Centre. John particularly enjoyed family gatherings at Kenncrest where his delightful sense of humour generally was on display. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marylou “Muff” Downing, son Mark (Heather) St-Marys, granddaughters Sarah (Steve) Radcliffe, Thorold, Laura (Nathan) Malbrecht, Lucan, Great-Grandson Hudson Malbrecht, son Brian (Marion) Oxford Centre, grandsons Christopher and Noah, daughter Julie (George) Krauss Port Dover, grandsons Steven, David (Alexis Schneider), brother Laing (Saundra Lazenby) of Kent, Ohio, daughters Kelly, Stowe Ohio, Karyn (Sean) Kennedy Brune (Andrew, Caroline, Campbell) of Baltimore. A private family grave side service was held at the Pioneer Cemetery in Oxford Centre.
